In light of the recent developments, such as the WHO and the CDC publishing statements, the various cruise companies have relaxed their cancellation policies for customers. Below is a synopsis of some of the cruise lines current cancellation policies and procedures:
Norwegian Cruise Line:
All cruises suspended from March 13 to April 11, 2020.
Guests who are booked on voyages dated to embark from March 13 to March 17, 2020 will receive a 150% refund of the fare paid in the form of a future cruise credit, which can be applied toward any cruise through December 31, 2022.
Guests who are booked on voyages dated to embark from March 18 to April 11, 2020 will receive a 125% refund of the fare paid in the form of a future cruise credit, which can be applied toward any future cruise through December 31, 2022.
Guests who do not want the future cruise credit will receive a 100% refund of the fare paid within 90 days of completing their online request form, which will be made available beginning March 23, 2020.
Carnival Cruises
The cruise line is pausing service for all cruises scheduled to embark from March 14-April 9, 2020. A 100% refund is an option, or one can have 100% of the credit applied to a future cruise, plus a $600 credit if its a six day or plus cruise that is booked by 12/31/20 and sets sail by 12/31/22, or an additional $300 credit for a five day or less cruise with the same booking requirements.
Celebrity Cruises
On March 15, the cruise line joined the others in suspending all cruises until at least April 11, 2020.
For the suspended cruises, there is 125% Future Cruise Credit that is good through 2021 or a guest can accept a 100% refund.
Disney
Suspended cruises until April 12, 2020. Additionally, it is unknown yet if the April 29, 2020 cruise that will embark or debark in Canada will commence, due to the Canadian government mandating that no ship with more than 500 passenger can dock until July 1, 2020. For the cruises from present to April 12, Disney Cruise Line will offer Guests affected by this decision a future cruise credit or a full refund.
